We started our new recycling program this Spring with much anticipation... It was something we had been thinking about from the beginning. We created a collection of bags to help replace a disposable product, but we just didnt want to create more waste...
Our association with reDiscover Center has been a true gift. Their initiative to take used bags and put them into a wonderful art program just brings the whole idea to another level.
Marybeth the director of reDiscover used some of our bags for an art proejct with the girls scouts... they used them on their trip and sent us a thank you card.

We are also reaping from the benefits of working with Rediscover on another worthy project. Thanks to them, we've met Louise, who in February set up a school art project supported by the LA County Arts Commission. She's shared some of her photos and thoughts below which we are thrilled to share with you:
I thought you would enjoy some photos from the event. Here are a series of collages from last Saturday. The kids screen printed, drew and embellished your tote bags. They had so much fun. And all 150 bags were used! A lot of the kids made bags for friends & family that couldn't attend. One teenager was making a bag for her Science teacher. She was drawing different lessons on the bag and said she wanted to show her teacher how much she loved her class. Another couple of kids used the three dots for their initials and drew fancy letters inside each of the brown dots.Thank you again for your incredible donation. The kids loved them and now the totes will making their premiere around Los Angeles County.Louise, Architect & Artist / www.griffinmade.com
